New Member Update - November 2020

Our Mission is to provide social opportunities for our kids that are non-religious and educational that are free to low cost for our families. PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST. 

Welcome! Gulf Beach Homeschoolers is an all inclusive non-religious group aimed at providing social opportunities for our kids. We are a FREE group and attempt to keep all activities free to low cost. Our group is primarily located in South Sarasota County FL but have families join our activities from surrounding areas as well.

Why we require meet ups before being added to our Facebook Group: Simply to put a real face to the Facebook name. With the amount of fake profiles or profiles that seem to "collect" Facebook group memberships we believe it is important to focus on dedicated members. We are an event group that hosts events for kids and want to keep it as safe as possible. Our events are private and have limited space for families. Keeping the group small and filled with ACTIVE members is top priority for the group. Those that are actively wishing to join are more apt to attend a meet and greet and continue in our group. There are a TON of homeschool informational groups on Facebook, local and otherwise. This is not that group. We do have families looking for information and support we aim to focus on events. We encourage all families to reach out and find whatever resource is best for them. 

New Member Information - Few things have changed. 

1) We are requesting/requiring that all new joining members have at least one child who is 6+ years old. We are a school age group that occasionally does preschool sibling activities. While we love all our homeschool families we are seeing increases in younger kids joining who later go to school and have taken spots away from our long time families with older kids. Many of our events are geared for 6+ and only young siblings are welcome. Please note there are plenty of other informational homeschool groups out there and we encourage you to join those and reapply as your children get older.

2) If you have friends or family in Gulf Beach Homeschoolers who are active members you can join them for an activity, have them invite you to the group, and/or add them to question #2 out of the 3 questions on the Facebook group. The last two options does not guarantee entrance but can help expedite the process.

Application Process MUST COMPLETE - If you do not fill out this application form you will NOT be able to access the events that are available for new members. After answering the questions please check your email as you will be sent an automatic response with further information.
